During 2016, the Company recorded a significant growth on sales of Motorcycle tires “MC” using the brand of Corsa achieving 35% compared from the previous year from 3,3 million tires into 4.4 million tires, mainly from domestic market. This increase is also reflected up to 2017, shown from the increase of motorcycle tires in first quarter of 1.4 million tires, up 72% compared to first quarter of 2016.
In the meantime, the sales of Passenger Car Radial “PCR” under the brand of Achilles, in 2017 already shown an increase after decreasing in 2016, it is shown in the increase of PCR sales volume of 4% in first quarter of 2017. This increase is expected to become a good momentum to continue increasing sales of tires in the local and export market. Some of marketing activities were already committed by the Company. Such as, sponsorship with soccer team of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and strong local soccer team with significant achievement and strong fan base.
The increase in sales is also supported by good distribution channel, therefore the Company continues to strengthen its distribution network – both local and export. One of the example, is using representative office in United States as one of the main market, while at the same time expanding the current family channel as well as creating new family channel for motorcycle tires.
Early this year, the Company also managed to market its product to South Korea, one of the big markets in Asia requiring a high quality product. It will be marketed by one of big distributors in South Korea with extensive distributon network. Therefore, it is expected that market will receive our product faster.
Some of cost efficiency initiatives are also underway to reduce production cost enabling the company to manufacture good quality product with affordable value and able to compete with products from other factories.
“In 2017, the company is expected to face the same situation as before, both in domestic and international market.
